For your consideration we are offering for sale this Wonderful Restored 1945 Parker Silver Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

This Parker Vacumatic provides not so often seen variant features for typical vacumatics. The Stacked Coin Cap Banding is known from 1942-1943 Shadow Wave. It is found later (1946) on pens with conventional stripes. However, known only from 1945 (and maybe 1946) are 3rd gen striped pens with seamed plastic, with distinct line indicating wrapped celluloid. Possibly an experiment by Parker. Fountain Pens are found with 1) seamed cap, 2) with seamed barrel and 3) seamed cap and barrel. This particular Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen has the seamed cap. The seamed cap with stacked coin band is proof the stacked coin band persisted on striped pens past the initial use on other 1942/3-only models. This is a quite decent example combining a couple interesting features that collector do not often witness.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Nickel Plate Blue Diamond Split Arrow Clip, Coin Stacked Cap Band and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of the fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size, which measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has the Blue Diamond Split Arrow Gold Filled Clip and the Stacked Coin Cap Band that shine and display no brassing. The top jewel is black and looks great with a high shine. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. however the date code is non-existent". The transparency of the barrel is excellent, an individual can easily see through the barrel, albeit with mild ambering. The blind cap securely fits. The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 5-7 presses to fill full.

The Parker NIB is a 14K gold split arrow NIB and has a medium point measuring roughly .67mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample the NIB writes with a medium to double broad stroke line. The writing sample provided, the thinnest line measures at .67mm and the double broad line is 1.35mm with firm to medium pressure when measured with digital calipers. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton cloth that I used to wipe clean the barrel and cap.

The color on this Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen display a gorgeous Silver Pearl. We have two features on this pen that charms collectors than the typical Vac; 1) Seamed Plastic on the Cap; and, 2) the coin stacked cap banding. This Parker Vacumatic would grade Excellent. Certainly a wonderful fountain pen that is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
