For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1940 Parker Emerald Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Long Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Clip, Chevron Cap Band, bottom jewel tassel and 14K Parker NIB. Additionally, I cleaned, buffed, polished and waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in marvelous condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. This cap displays the Split Arrow Gold Filled Blue Diamond Clip and Chevron Cap Banding, which display no wear or brassing. The top jew is emerald striped and the bottom jewel is black - both have been polished to bring back a beautiful shine. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 0 (for 1940) in the 1st Quarter". The transparency is excellent with the barrel nearly water clear. The blind cap securely fits. This Parker Vacumatic is a long major size, which measures 5 3/8" in length capped and 6 3/8" posted.

This Vacumatic has the Speedline Filling System works perfectly, typically in my tests with water about 10-13 presses to fill nearly full. The Speedline Filling Unit has been greased and operates smoothly. The Speedline Filler is the correct filling unit for this 2nd Generation fountain pen.

The Parker NIB is a 14K Gold Split Arrow NIB. The actual writing portion/tip (iridium) of this 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring .72mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating the writing sample, this Parker NIB writes with a medium to broad stroke. The writing sample provided in the listing image has the medium stroke at .80mm with light pressure and the broad line measured at 1.35mm when measured with digital calipers with normal to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

These Long Major Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pens are increasingly difficult to find which makes this an excellent collector variant to add to one's writing arsenal collection. I would grade this Parker Vacumatic in Excellent Condition after my restoration and is ready to write with this great, smooth nib.
