For your consideration we are offering for sale this 1939 Double Jewel Parker Shadow-Wave Fountain Pen in Jet Black Celluloid and in restored condition. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Split Arrow Gold Filled Clip, Gold Filled Chevron Cap Banding and 14K Split Arrow NIB. Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and shine of this fountain pen. The transparency of the barrel is excellent, albeit with mild ambering.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in excellent condition with no cracks, teeth marks or repairs. The cap has the Gold Filled Split Arrow clip with no brassing. The Gold Filled Chevron Cap Banding displays a wonderful gold filled color, again, with no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are black and display a fantastic shine. The jeweled blind cap securely fits.
The Speedline Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7 presses and it will fill nearly full. The filling unit operates smoothly and works flawlessly.
This Parker Vacumatic Shadow Wave Fountain Pen is Junior Debutante Model that measures 4 7/8" in length capped and 5 1/2" posted. The 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .57mm, measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample the NIB writes with a fine to medium stroke / line. The writing sample provided in the image has a fine stroke that measures .47mm and can flex to a roughly .85mm with medium pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Black Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
