For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1939 Parker Vacumatic Double Jewel Fountain Pen in Emerald Pearl Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Arrow Clip, Gold Filled Chevron Cap Banding (\\\///) and 14K Two-Tone NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a long major size that measures 5 3/8" in length capped and 6 1/4" posted.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the blue diamond gold filled clip that does not display any brassing. The chevron cap banding is in excellent condition with no brassing. The top jewel is striped to match the cap and barrel and the blind cap jewel is black - both have been polished to bring back their gorgeous shine. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 9, for 1939, in the third quarter". The transparency of the barrel is opaque (not transparent). The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.
The Vacumatic Filling System has the proper plastic Speedline Filling unit for 2nd Generation Vacumatics. It works great, typically in my tests with water about 5 to 7 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and flawlessly.
The Parker NIB is a 14K gold Two-Tone Split Arrow Nib. The nib on this Parker Vac writes very smoothly which makes for a pleasurable writing experience. The actual tip/writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .75mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a fine to broad stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .58mm and the broad stroke measures .94mm when measured with digital calipers under medium to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen displays gorgeous Emerald Pearl celluloid color. I grade this Parker Vac in Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
