For your consideration, we are offering for sale this restored 1937 Parker Vacumatic Double Jewel Burgundy Pearl Celluloid First Generation Fountain Pen in the Standard Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Feather Gold Filled Split Arrow Clip, 3-Ring Cap Banding, 14K 2-Tone U.S.A. Parker NIB, and bottom tassel. The gold filled trim displays "No Brassing". I have cleaned, buffed, polished, and waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is a Standard Size which measures 5 1/8" capped and 6" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Feather Split Arrow gold filled clip with the 3-Ring Cap Banding with no brassing. The top & bottom jewels are black and polished to a glorious shine. The section is also striped to match the pen's cap and barrel. The barrel is stamped lightly/faint with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with extremely faint date code 7 seen under magnification and the right lighting condition, for 1937, and I am unable to determine the quarter it was produced in due to the faintness". There is a personalization on the barrel that reads, "M. SCHAFFITZEL". The transparency of the barrel is excellent and a person can easily see through the barrel, albeit with mild ambering. The blind cap securely fits.

This Parker 1st Generation fountain pen has the correct lock-down filling unit. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Lockdown Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7 to 9 presses to fill 3/4 full. I have greased the filling unit, so it operates smoothly.

The Parker NIB is a 14K Gold 2-Tone U.S.A. Parker Split Arrow NIB, which I cannot emphasize enough has an ultra-smooth writing experience. The platinum coating on the NIB is in very good condition with only a hint of wear starting to display. The actual iridium writing portion of the this 14K U.S.A. Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .64mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine to medium stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .49mm and medium line measures at .89mm when measures with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.

This is a beautiful vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Burgundy Pearl Celluloid in the Standard size. I cannot emphasize enough how smooth the writing experience is with this fantastic Parker NIB. I would consider this Parker to fall in the Very Fine to Excellent Condition range. If the imprint was crisper and it did not have the personalization, it would easily grade in excellent condition. This Parker is the desirable burgundy pearl celluloid and ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
